Rolex Yacht-Master 40 — Ref. 126622 Rhodium Dial Full Set

The Yacht-Master has always occupied a specific position in the Rolex catalog — not a pure tool watch, not a dress watch, but something that moves between both without apology. The 126622 is its steel expression, and the material contrast at the center of it is what makes it worth talking about.

The bezel is platinum. Not steel, not ceramic — platinum, bidirectional rotatable, with raised and polished numerals set against a sandblasted background. On a predominantly steel watch, that detail is immediately legible. It gives the 126622 a weight and a material presence that no other steel sports Rolex can claim.

The dial is dark rhodium with a sunburst finish — a color that shifts between charcoal and silver depending on the light, never quite settling on either. Chromalight-filled hour markers and hands. The red seconds hand adds the only note of contrast, a deliberate detail that keeps the watch from reading as purely formal. 40mm Oystersteel case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, water resistant to 100 metres.

The movement is the in-house Calibre 3235 — self-winding, 70-hour power reserve, Chronergy escapement, Parachrom hairspring, chronometer-certified. Presented on the Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock clasp and Easylink 5mm comfort extension link.
